چکیده مقاله:

The increasing population in the contemporary world has created chaos and various issues in cities. One of the key urban issues is urban transportation, which has garnered special attention, particularly in metropolitan areas. Among the diverse approaches to intervention in this field, transit-oriented development (TOD) has attracted significant interest. This research aims to assess the feasibility of implementing TOD in South Shariati Street, Tabriz, focusing on six key variables: population density, land use patterns, access to public transportation, transportation infrastructure, urban design characteristics, and socio-economic factors. The findings indicate that South Shariati Street has high potential for the implementation of TOD due to its high population density, diverse land uses, and adequate access to public transportation systems. Enhancing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, improving access to public transportation stations, and developing land use patterns with a mixed residential-commercial density are recommended to transform this area into a sustainable neighborhood aligned with TOD principles.
