چکیده مقاله:
This study investigates the synthesis of strontium carbonate (SrCO۳) from celestine (SrSO۴) and evaluates its effectiveness in lead ion removal from zinc electrolytes. The synthesis process commenced with the dissolution of celestine in sulfuric acid, followed by the precipitation of strontium sulfate through supersaturation techniques. The subsequent reaction with sodium carbonate at elevated temperatures (۶۰ °C and ۸۰ °C) facilitated the formation of strontium carbonate. A comparative analysis revealed that strontium carbonate synthesized at ۸۰ °C exhibited superior lead removal efficiency, reducing lead concentration from an initial ۴.۵ mg/L to ۲.۴ mg/L, outperforming both commercial samples. This enhancement is attributed to improved crystallite size and reaction kinetics at higher temperatures. The study underscores the importance of optimizing synthesis conditions for environmental remediation applications while suggesting that future research should address the economic viability of different strontium carbonate sources for industrial lead removal strategies.
