Advanced Separation of Harmeful metals from Waste Effluents by Ion Exchange using I. Potassium Hexacyanocobalt (II) Ferrate (II) (KCFC)

Potassium hexacyanocobalt (II) ferrate (II) was prepared and dried at high temperatures and then characterized by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, Inductively Coupled Plasma and infrared. The ion exchange properties of alkaline earth metals on a nonstoichiometric compound K2[CoFe(CN)6] was examined by batch methods. The distribution coefficient values (Kd)] for alkaline earch metals showed the following trend Ba2+>Sr2+>Ca2+>Mg2+>, which is the same as the order of the size of the hydrated cations
