چکیده مقاله:
This study examined the relationship between self-confidence and oral performance over English literature students of Lorestan University in 2013. Our statistical data were gathered in simple random sampling. The participants were asked to answer Coppersmith's psychological self-confidence questionnaire test. To determine their oral performance, they were interviewed about certain questions from low to high level. Situational confidence, communicational confidence, language potential confidence and language ability confidence were the component of self-confidence for college learners of L2. It is supposed that there were significant effects of self-confidence on L2 learners' oral performance. Our assumption is that the higher anxious the students were about speaking English, the lower score they gained on their oral performance. The higher confident they were, the higher oral performance they showed. The correlation analysis of self-confidence and the elements of oral performance showed that confidence was not more closely correlated with L2 learner attitude and intention including communication strategies and social conversation skills of oral performance
