چکیده مقاله:
Schizophrenia is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by hallucinations, disturbed thinking, and cognitive impairment. Despite extensive research, the exact cause of schizophrenia remains unknown. Previous studies have shown that individuals with schizophrenia often have irregular circadian rhythms. The CLOCK gene plays a key role in regulating circadian rhythms and is involved in various physiological functions in mammals. Changes in the CLOCK gene have been linked to mental and circadian disorders. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between specific gene variations (rs۱۸۰۱۲۶۰ and rs۶۸۱۱۵۲۰) in the CLOCK gene and susceptibility to schizophrenia in the Iranian population.
