چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: A premature infant is an infant born before the ۳۷th week of pregnancy. It is estimated that around ۱۵ million infants are born in the world every year. Due to the fact that they are in the group of high-risk babies, premature babies are exposed to all kinds of diseases, but respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is one of the most important causes of death and hospitalization in the neonatal intensive care unit. Respiratory distress is a common problem such that ۳۰% of premature infants suffer from respiratory distress, which is caused by the immaturity of the lungs and the reduction of surfactant, which requires invasive and non-invasive treatments. This condition can lead to complications. It is serious in premature babies, so the prevention and effective care of premature babies are very important. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of nursing care on the prevention of respiratory distress in premature infants. Methods and Materials: This study was conducted by searching the scientific sites PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar with keywords Nursing care, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, premature, infant from ۲۰۱۷ to ۲۰۲۴. Results: The studies showed that nursing interventions through the administration of steroids and teaching the symptoms of newborn respiratory distress to high-risk mothers for premature delivery during pregnancy and the use of mechanical ventilation and positive airway pressure (CPAP) to reduce the risk of treatment failure and Administering surfactant and oxygen therapy and continuous monitoring of the respiratory status of infants have been able to reduce the complications caused by respiratory distress. Conclusion: According to the lack of articles in this field, it can be said that nursing interventions in all stages of childbirth can effectively help prevent respiratory distress in premature babies, and by informing parents, the conditions are provided so that they can report their symptoms to reach the treatment center and inform the treatment team
