The Role of Myoinositol in Enhancing Follicular Development and Reducing Hyperstimulation Risk in Women with PCOS Undergoing IVF: A Systematic Review of Clinical Trials

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder associated with infertility and a high risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) during assisted reproductive treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). Myoinositol (MI), a naturally occurring compound, has emerged as a promising adjunct in PCOS management. Its insulin-sensitizing properties and regulatory effects on ovarian function may improve follicular development, reduce OHSS risk, and enhance pregnancy outcomes in women undergoing IVF. This systematic review evaluates the efficacy and safety of MI, alone or in combination, compared to other interventions for women with PCOS undergoing IVF.
