چکیده مقاله:
Iran, with a population of approximately ۸۵ million, consumes energy equivalent to a country with a billion people. Building sector energy losses are the highest, making Iran one of the world's largest energy consumers. This research investigates the impact of different facade building materials on energy consumption during a building's operational life. This research uses economic calculations to clearly demonstrate the effect of different building materials on operational costs. Initially, a five-story residential building was modeled in Design Builder software. By keeping all other elements constant, two different exterior wall materials were defined. Results showed that using AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks instead of cement blocks would reduce annual energy consumption by ۱۴,۱۰۲.۲۲ kilowatt-hours (including electricity and gas). Additionally, by using AAC blocks instead of cement blocks, an approximate ۳۲,۶۲۹,۱۵۹ Iranian rials in economic savings can be achieved annually. Furthermore, the payback period in this scenario is close to ۱۲.۳ years. The findings highlight the importance of exterior walls in energy savings and can encourage builders to use more efficient materials.
