Today, the use of artificial intelligence technology in medical sciences is seen in different types and with different functions. One of the technologies that can be useful in this field is chatbots (chat robots). Recently, the security of personal information has attracted increasing attention. One of the main challenges of information security in chatbots is the protection of sensitive user data. As chatbots are widely used in various industries and applications, the amount of personal information shared through them is also increasing, making chatbots an attractive target for cybercriminals. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to extract the challenges related to information security and confidentiality in health chatbots, extract relevant solutions, and provide a conceptual model to ensure the security and confidentiality of information in health chatbots. In order to achieve the research objective, first a domain review study was conducted in reliable databases without time limits. In the next step, laws, guidelines, and standards related to information security and confidentiality were extracted and categorized. Then, based on the results of the first and second stages of the research, the conceptual model proposed by the research team was created and finalized after multiple reviews. The results of this research showed that despite the existing concerns about the security and confidentiality of information in health chatbots, few studies have addressed this issue and no integrated solution has been proposed so far. The results of this research can be useful for users, health service providers, upstream institutions, and health chatbot developers.
