Animals, as one of the most captivating elements of nature, have always played a significant role in the tourism industry. Many tourist destinations around the world utilize animals in tourism activities to enhance their attractiveness, create a positive destination image, and offer unique experiences. This approach not only contributes to the development of the tourism industry but can also be a powerful tool for conserving animal species and reviving indigenous traditions related to animals. Camel-based tourism is a popular subgenre of animal-based tourism, focusing on activities involving camels. This type of tourism often incorporates camel riding, camel races, or cultural experiences centered around camels. This review article examines various examples of Camel-Based sports tourism worldwide. It also explores the role of sports tourism in conserving animal species, preserving the environment, and reviving indigenous traditions. Finally, by providing recommendations for the sustainable development of camel-based sports tourism, the article seeks to introduce innovative approaches globally to help this industry generate income and employment for local communities while promoting sustainable development and environmental protection.
