چکیده مقاله:

Lorestan province has one of the most diverse species of the legume family thanks to its special climatic conditions. One of the most important genera of this family is clover (Trifolium spp.), which is ecologically important and produces high-quality forage. Considering the geographical situation of Lorestan province, the diversity of species in the clover genus is expected to be high. Therefore, this study introduced and compared the number of species in the clover genus in Lorestan province and their number with those in the Ilam, Chaharmahal, and Bakhtiari provinces. This study was conducted using documents and field surveys. Some plant samples are kept in the herbarium of Lorestan University. The results showed that the number of species in the clover genus in Lorestan, Ilam, Chaharmahal, and Bakhtiari provinces is ۱۹, ۱۵, and ۱۱, respectively. Out of ۱۹ species, there are four rare species: T. arvense, T. hybridum, T. stellatum, and T. vavilovii. The high diversity of this genus requires better management of these valuable natural resources. The introduced annual species could be used to restore degraded lands in warm and temperate semi-arid rangelands.
