Evalution of the Effect of Trichoderma Seed Treatment on Wheat Growth Traits

Wheat is the first grain and the most important crop in the world, being one of the main agricultural products that meet the food needs of people in various countries. This plant is produced in a wide range of climatic conditions and geographical areas. Due to its high adaptability to different weather conditions, its distribution range is greater than any other plant. One of the ways to increase the yield of this important plant is the use of biological materials on seeds, soil, and plants, as they colonize the rhizosphere or plant surface and create favorable conditions for its growth. One of these biological materials is the Trichoderma fungus, which exerts its biocontrol activity through various mechanisms such as mycoparasitism, antibiosis, competition for food and space, stimulation of resistance mechanisms, stimulation of plant growth and development, alteration of environmental conditions especially the rhizosphere, and increasing the solubility of mineral elements for plant uptake. In the experiment by Rezalu et al. (۲۰۲۰), wheat and sweet corn seeds coated with Trichoderma showed better establishment and initial growth compared to the control. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of Trichoderma fungus on the yield and yield components of Mehregan wheat.
