چکیده مقاله:
Turkey is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, renowned for its history of devastating earthquakes. Numerous active faults crisscross the nation, giving rise to frequent and sometimes catastrophic seismic events. In the past decade, Türkiye has experienced ۱,۱۶۲ earthquakes, ۹ of which were recorded at ۶ or higher. Among these, the ۷.۸-magnitude earthquake in Pazarcik, Kahramanmaras sequence on February ۶, ۲۰۲۳, stands out as the largest earthquake of the last ten years, An analysis of the data from ۲۰۱۳ to ۲۰۲۳ reveals that these years were characterized by an extraordinary number and magnitude of earthquakes across Turkey, with a significant release of seismic energy across the country's diverse regions. Statistical analysis of earthquakes holds immense importance as a crucial step towards better understanding Turkey's seismically active zones and enhancing preparedness for these natural disasters. These statistics underscore that Turkey remains at a serious seismic risk, necessitating the implementation of rigorous preventive measures and comprehensive planning to mitigate the hazards associated with this devastating phenomenon. By raising public awareness, strengthening building codes, and developing rapid earthquake warning systems, the destructive consequences of these natural disasters can be significantly reduced, safeguarding lives and property from the sudden tremors of the earth.
