چکیده مقاله:
Scaling, a prevalent distress in Aprons and Trim pads composed of jointed reinforced concrete pavements (JRPC), significantly impacts ride quality, road smoothness, and introduces dangers related to Foreign Object Debris (F.O.D). The accurate prediction of pavement distress is paramount for effective pavement management. This study aims to enhance engineers' ability to predict distress by employing more comprehensive and applicable methods through the analysis of climatic factors. In this research, we delve into the intricate influence of climatic factors on scaling distress in jointed plain concrete pavements (JPCP). The specific climatic factors considered include the annual average air temperature, wind speed, and precipitation. These factors are known to exert various structural stresses on road surfaces, airports, and aprons, potentially causing both pavement damage and F.O.D hazards. To comprehensively evaluate the impact of climatic factors, a thorough sensitivity analysis is conducted. The study employs the Normal Sensitivity Index (NSI) to measure changes in the thickness and ultimate strength of the designed concrete slab against variations in each climatic factor. By combining the results of this analysis with the sensitivity of pavement damage to changes in slab thickness and ultimate strength, a nuanced classification is achieved, ranging from "insensitive" to "very sensitive."
