چکیده مقاله:

The avian immune system has developed numerous complex, diverse, and closely interconnected strategies, along with common defense systems similar to their reptilian ancestors. These unique characteristics make birds, especially poultry, an essential vertebrate model for exploring fundamental immunological principles and comparative immunology. The avian immune system differs from the immune systems of other species in various ways. The immune system of the bird is primarily composed of primary lymphoid organs and secondary lymphoid organs. Immunoglobulins, commonly known as antibodies, play a vital role in our immune system. They are produced by B cells and have a distinct three-dimensional shape that enables them to selectively attach to foreign substances. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the poultry immune system, its components especially antibody, and their mechanism. In conclusion, the progress in antibody engineering and the advantages of utilizing chicken IgY for passive immunization have enabled biomedical researchers to investigate the therapeutic application of IgY against different diseases such as parasitic infections, viral infections, and bacterial infections.
