چکیده مقاله:

The main purpose of this study is to use electrocoagulation with aluminum electrodes to removecolor, turbidity, and COD of yeast wastewater. Required samples have been collected from theraw wastewater of the Naghan yeast factory located ۸۰ kilometers from Shahrekord. In eachstep, ۱۲۵۰ ml of sample was mixed completely using a magnetic stirrer with a constant speed۱۵۰ RPM in the reactor. Different current densities including ۶۰, ۸۰, ۱۰۰, and ۱۲۰ A/m۲ with۱۵, ۳۰, ۴۵, and ۶۰ minutes’ retention time have been examined. Each test was repeated threetimes and the average results have been reported. The best removal efficiency for color,turbidity, and COD was obtained in ۸۰ A/m۲ and ۴۵ minutes. Meanwhile, COD removalefficiency was ۶۰ % at ۶۰ A/m۲ and ۳۰ minutes and ۸۰ % for ۸۰ A/m۲ and ۴۵ minutes. It shouldbe noted that the removal efficiency of color and turbidity was higher than the COD.Electrocoagulation is an applicable method for color, turbidity, and COD removal in yeastindustry wastewater. Utilizing the electrocoagulation method COD and color and turbiditycould be decreased by ۸۰% and ۹۰% respectively.
