چکیده

Introduction: This study examines the impact of cancer on individuals, given the challenging and lengthy treatment processes associated with various types of cancer. It is aimed to understand the physical, psychological, financial, and social consequences of cancer, especially in light of recent advancements in medical science that have improved the chances of cancer treatment.Materials and Methods: A literature review was conducted by analyzing studies available in databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus.Results: Several factors influence the ability of cancer patients to return to work including age, gender, the presence of metastatic diseases, physical limitations hormone therapy, and chemotherapy effects cancer type, cancer grade, family worries, the fear and anxiety related to potential cancer patients etc. In addition, work type and health insurance are important in the return to work of cancer patients because these people usually cannot return to physical work with difficult conditions. Recognizing these factors during treatment can inform crucial supportive interventions to facilitate the return of cancer patients to work cancer related fears are one of the most critical issues that exist long after treatment and psychological and social support can play a significant role in addressing this issue.Conclusions: Returning to work for cancer patients is a multifactorial process with special challenges. Implementing supportive care, along with a comprehensive understanding of patients' cognitive information, and the specific type of cancer they faced, after the post recovery treatment period (typically around two years), can contribute to an increased probability of returning to work in cancer patients. After complete recovery, supportive treatments including psychological and social treatments can improve job productivity. The role of social workers and psychologists in supportive care is important because these people increase the patient's participation in society with their follow up and effective communication with patients.
