چکیده مقاله:

Steelmaking dust, often contaminated with high levels of chlorine, poses significant challenges forconventional zinc recovery methods. Additionally, low-grade dust cannot be directly processed throughelectrolysis. This study presents a comprehensive approach to recover zinc from this challengingfeedstock. Sulfuric acid leaching was employed to dissolve zinc, achieving a leaching efficiency ofapproximately ۹۴%. A neutralization step removed impurities like iron. Solvent extraction usingD۲EHPA selectively extracted zinc ions, yielding an extraction efficiency of ۸۳%. Subsequently, stripping recovered ۹۴% of the zinc into an aqueous solution. Finally, electrowinning deposited highpurityzinc metal onto an aluminum cathode, achieving a current efficiency of ۹۰%. This integratedprocess offers a sustainable solution for recovering valuable zinc from low-grade steelmaking dust, mitigating environmental concerns and contributing to a circular economy for metal production
