Effect of current density and included TiO۲ nanoparticles on the microhardness of the Ni-Fe deposits

This work is aimed to study the effect of current density (۴-۱۰ A/dm۲) and TiO۲ inclusion (۱۰ g/L) on the microhardness of the Ni-Fe alloy coatings obtained by the pulsed current (PC) electrodeposition method. Vickers microhardness tester was employed to evaluate the microhardness of the coatings. The results showed that the Ni-Fe alloy coatings produced at ۸ A/dm۲ provide the highest microhardness. The incorporation of the TiO۲ nanoparticles into the alloy coating fabricated at ۸ A/dm۲ causes a significant increase in its microhardness.
