چکیده مقاله:

Pre-sintering is a comprehensive process that involves the complex evolution of material properties and microstructures and is recognized as a critical factor in improving the machinability of ceramics. The present study investigates the effects of pre-sintering parameters on the density and microstructural properties of the pre-sintered Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) block. The zirconia block was prepared using cold isostatic pressing techniques, then sintered at ۹۵۰ °C for two different holding times (۱ and ۳ hours). Samples were evaluated in terms of density, and morphology. Results showed that the sample porosity decreased with an increment in the pre-sintering holding time. So, the density increased from ۳.۰۲ g/cm۳ at ۱ h to ۳.۱۸ g/cm۳ at ۳ h of holding time. The sintering temperature of ۹۵۰ °C with a ۳ h holding time was considered to have the most properties within the range of commercial zirconia block density values for the restoration milling procedure.
