The Impact Of Family Cohesion And Adaptability On Marital Conflict In Couples: An Analytical Study

This study explores the impact of family cohesion and adaptability on marital conflict among couples. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from ۲۰۰ couples, utilizing validated instruments including the Family Cohesion Scale (FCS), Family Adaptability Scale (FAS), and Marital Conflict Inventory (MCI). The findings reveal that higher levels of family cohesion and adaptability are significantly associated with lower levels of marital conflict. The interaction between these factors indicates that while family cohesion provides emotional support and stability, adaptability enhances the ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively. The study highlights the importance of these dynamics in marital relationships, offering practical implications for therapists and counselors aiming to improve relationship satisfaction through targeted interventions. These results underscore the need for a holistic approach that considers both emotional bonding and flexibility in managing marital disputes. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies and diverse cultural contexts to further validate these findings.
