چکیده مقاله:

Urban planning is a critical discipline that involves the design and management of the physical, social, and economic infrastructure of cities and towns. It requires the integration of various typesof data, including demographic information, land use patterns, transportation networks, andenvironmental factors, to make informed decisions that guide sustainable urban development.Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geomatics have revolutionized urban planning byproviding powerful tools for the collection, analysis, and visualization of spatial data. This paper explores the innovative applications of GIS and Geomatics in urban planning andmanagement, with a focus on the utilization of spatial data to enhance decision-making processes. The integration of remote sensing, LiDAR, GPS, and other geomatics technologies has enabledurban planners to perform detailed spatial analyses, monitor urban growth, and predict futuretrends with greater accuracy. By leveraging these technologies, urban planners can develop moreeffective strategies for infrastructure development, resource management, and environmentalprotection. The paper also discusses novel applications of GIS and Geomatics in areas such as smart cityinitiatives, climate resilience, and participatory urban planning. Through the use of advancedspatial data analytics, urban planners can create more resilient, efficient, and inclusive urbanenvironments. This review highlights recent advancements in the field and presents case studiesthat demonstrate the transformative potential of GIS and Geomatics in addressing modern urbanchallenges.
