Understanding the factors and processes that control the amount of sediment in the quaternary sediment of basins (SY [t/ km۲ /y], is very important for many environmental and economic issues is important. Several sources have been published abroad to support this hypothesis that the seismicity index of a basin is one of the main factors of basin sediment production. A complete but not comprehensive research has been done at the world level on the impact of tectonic activities on the sediment delivery of the basin, which shows these logical relationships. The seismic characteristics of basins are usually expressed based on the maximum acceleration of an earthquake (Peak Ground Acceleration, PGA) or the probability of an earthquake. In this research, the influence of tectonic factors on the sedimentation of selected basins of Iran will be investigated using the tectonic influence factor in the used models. In this way, it is recommended to use a correction coefficient in the estimating models to achieve the accurate amount of sediment measured in the hydrometric stations. It is expected that if the desired results are achieved in estimating the impact of the tectonic coefficient of a region on the amount of sediment, it will be possible to develop models by adding a correction coefficient in the model. In this study, the relationship between the sedimentation rate of the basin (SY) and the tectonic characteristics of the basin, including seismic characteristics and faults, is analyzed. In order to obtain an index that shows the tectonic characteristics of a basin, a wide range of sources was reviewed and several parameters were selected based on that and information was collected for each basin. These indicators include the ratio of the total length of faults in a basin (the ratio of the density of total and active faults), average and maximum earthquake intensity occurred in a basin, the value of the maximum acceleration of earthquakes (PGA value). In the next step, the correlation between SY and the tectonic activity of ۱۰ ۲nd grade basins in south, west and northwest of were investigated.
