چکیده مقاله:

This study presents an analytical investigation into the inelastic cyclic behavior of reinforcedconcrete (RC) members employing threaded splices. The primary objective is to examine the effects oftwo threaded splice techniques—cold rolling and rotating friction welding on the inelastic cyclicbehavior of RC members within plastic hinge regions, particularly in seismic areas. Through uniaxialtensile and cyclic testing, threaded couplers (TC), oversize-threaded couplers (OTC), and rotaryfriction welding splices with threaded couplers (RFWTC) were thoroughly studied. The findingsunderscore the reliability of RFWTC and OTC splices, as confirmed by a proposed analytical modelfor evaluating the ultimate tensile strength of threaded couplers. These techniques emerge as robustmethods for connecting bars in plastic hinges under cyclic and axial loads, thus holding significantpromise for seismic applications.
