چکیده مقاله:
Some old, tall structures have weak points against earthquakes and wind loads because their designis based on past regulations. The negative stiffness damper is one of the systems that can retrofitexisting high-rise buildings. In this research, a ۱۰-story building with and without a negative stiffnessdamper was compared to evaluate the system's ability to reduce the energy input to the building andthe amount of damage caused by wind loads and earthquakes. The results show that the negativestiffness damper significantly reduces the acceleration created on the roof under the mentioned loads.This system also performs well against plastic energy. Plastic energy under wind and earthquake loadhas decreased by ۱۲ and ۷ percent, respectively. Examining the fragility curves shows that theprobability of failure in the building will have a downward trend; as a result, the structure'svulnerability will decrease with the presence of this system.
