چکیده مقاله:

Response history analysis, using direct time integration and a method for nonlinear solution, is aversatile broadly accepted approach to study semi-discretized models representing structures’ seismicbehaviors. This approach however suffers from three main shortcomings; complexity of the analysis, considerable analysis run-time (in general), and probably insufficient accuracy of the response.Especially, because of the first two shortcomings, the interest in nonlinear response history analysis issmall in eathquake engineering. Considering this and some recent improvements in iterative nonlinearsolutions, the procedure of nonlinear response history analysis in the seismic code of New Zealand,NZS ۱۱۷۰.۵:۲۰۰۴, is herein enhanced in two versions, such that the resulting analyses are simpler, canbe faster, and are sufficietly accurate. The claims are backed theoretically and via an example, and aredicussed form different aspects.
