چکیده مقاله:

Makran Subduction Zone (MSZ), located in the northwestern Indian Ocean, is susceptible totsunamis through various mechanisms. With its history of tsunamis and potential for seismogenicactivity, MSZ holds the potential to generate tsunamigenic earthquakes in the future. Traditionally, megathrust events have been the main tsunami generators. However, recent studies have shed light onthe possibility of other seismic and non-seismic tsunamis, which pose a threat to coasts. Termed as"complex tsunamis," they can be triggered by local normal and splay faults, landslides, volcanicactivity, and meteorological sources. Consequently, Makran has become as a focal point for tsunamiresearch, attracting numerous scientists over the past two decades. These researchers have dedicatedtheir efforts to studying tsunami history, paleotsunami, tsunamigenic sources, and employing tsunaminumerical modeling and hazard assessment. This presentation aims to provide an overview of thelatest advancements in tsunami research for Makran, with a focus on complex tsunamis
