چکیده مقاله:
Owing to their high stiffness and ductility, eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) are among the mostappropriate seismic resitance systems. In some configuration of EBFs, due to loading patterns or thestructural geometry, the link member can be subjected to high axial load. The presence of compressiveaxial forces increase link buckling occurrence, thereby reducing both its strength and ductility. Asmentioned in the commentary of AISC siesmic provisions, the effect of axial load on the behavior ofintermediate and long links has not been investigated adequately, highlighting the necessity for furtherstudy. This study investigates the overstrength factor of intermediate links made of European crosssection subject to axial loads using numerical modelling. The results obtained indicate that there is adecrease in overstrength factor of the intermediate link as the axial force increases
