REDUCING THE PHYSICAL VULNERABILITY OF EVINNEIGHBORHOOD, TEHRAN, AGAINST POSSIBLEEARTHQUAKE

The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the physical strengths and weaknesses of Evinneighborhood against possible earthquake. Moreover, this study provide solutions to reduce thephysical vulnerability of Evin neighborhood, located in the first district of Tehran, as a case study. Themethod used in this research is hybrid and has descriptive-analytical approach. To collect data, variousmethods such as field surveys, detailed observations and interviews have been used, and specializedtexts and reliable sites have been studied. The current research focuses on the situation of theneighborhood, which includes the system of uses, buildings, infrastructures, access, structure andurban texture. Then, the results of the research propose measures to reduce physical and non-structuralvulnerability of the neighborhood against earthquakes.
