چکیده مقاله:

In this research, we investigated seismic activity by relocating earthquakes and analyzing theirfocal mechanisms using comprehensive data. This process allowed us to identify active faults andseismic sources, correlating these findings with established fault maps and tectonic boundaries. Usingthe hypocentroidal decomposition method, we relocated ۱۶۷۶ earthquakes within ۹ seismic clusters. Our results indicate a significant concentration of seismic events along the North Tabriz fault, theGailatu–Siah Cheshmeh–Khoy fault, and the Chalderan fault system, consistent with previouslyidentified tectonic boundaries. Moreover, our analysis revealed a predominant seismic trend extendingfrom Zagros towards Salmas and southeast Anatolia, as well as along the Garmachay fault. However, contrary to the anticipated fault patterns, there were seismic trends perpendicular to the North Tabrizfault, West Khoy, and Lake Van. Additionally, while previous studies had proposed a fault in thewestern region of Salmas, our results did not indicate significant seismic activity in that area
