چکیده مقاله:

Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA), is an accurate method for evaluating the building responseunder the range of records which are scaled to different intensity levels. In this research, the IDAcurve of the ۹-storey building is computed for ۲۵ ground motions. Significant and time-consumingcomputational efforts led to providing a new procedure for estimating the response of symmetric midrisebuilding based on a single degree of freedom system. In the approximate method, the capacitycurve of the building is idealized according to bilinear, ۳-linear, and ۵-linear hysteretic models. Theidealized capacity curve is defined as a backbone curve of the SDOF system in each direction. Theresponse of the SDOF systems under earthquake records are combined with an appropriate modalcombination method. Spectral acceleration as intensity measure and peak roof drift ratio as engineerdemand parameter are considered. By comparing the curves, the precision of the approximate methodin three different percentiles (۱۶%, ۵۰%, ۸۴%) for limit states of immediate occupancy, collapseprevention, and global dynamic instability is obvious.
