چکیده مقاله:

Polymeric materials that can be stretched to a large strain and return to their original shape are known as rubber orelastomeric materials. Rubber is a fragile material that requires heavy machinery for processing. Significant amounts ofheat generated during tire manufacturing operations must be disposed of and controlled. The evaluation of degradationand stability of tires remains a debatable issue. Degradation of rubber can lead to the loss of physical properties such astensile strength, elongation, and flexibility. Therefore, the useful life of the tire depends on its stability in harshconditions. Cross-linking of polymers by ionizing radiation increases stability and improves mechanical properties.High-energy radiation enables ethylene-propylene elastomers to form intermolecular bonds, especially in the presenceof multifunctional compounds, creating a suitable cross-linking surface with minimal oxidation. In this study carbonblocks were modified by using the gamma radiation. Modified CBs were used in rubbers and their mechanical propertieswere investigated.
