Synthesis of Polyvinyl Alcohol-Polyvinylpyrrolidone Hydrogel Films

In this study, hydrogel films were synthesized using polyvinyl alcohol and polyvinylpyrrolidone bothhyrophilic and biocompatible polymers, at varying weight percentages. Potassium persulfate wasemployed as a radical initiator to induce cross-linking. The swelling behavior of the films, evaluatedby weight changes after water immersion, showed significant enhancement with encreasingpolyvinylpyrrolidone content, up to ۶۰%. This improvement is attributed to the greater hydrophilicityof polyvinylpyrrolidone compared to polyvinyl alcohol
