چکیده مقاله:

Insulators used in electrical systems such as power transmission substations can accumulate dirt andpollutants in open spaces over time, and periodic cleaning is essential to maintain their performance. Thebodies of various insulators used in power lines and substations differ in structure and materials based onthe specific type of insulator and its intended use. The most common materials used for electrical insulatorsare glass, porcelain, and composite polymer materials. In many areas, the pollution on insulators is in theform of mass deposited on the insulator and is not removed by conventional washing with distilled water, requiring a solution (an additive to distilled water). Therefore, when it comes to cleaning insulators, thechoice of solution or cleaning method depends on various factors, including the type of insulator materialand the nature of the pollutants. Environmental pollution, as a fundamental and determinative parameterthat affects the level of losses and errors in transmission lines, becomes apparent. Therefore, the use of asuitable washing solution for insulators can help maintain their insulating properties, prevent pollution-related issues, reduce network outages, eliminate repair time and maintenance costs, reduce operationalcosts, and sometimes annual cleaning, directly impacting the cost-effectiveness of the operations.
