چکیده مقاله:

Fish farming in cages is one of the most popular methods for producing seafood products. The simplicity in design and installation of cages, as well as the reduction in feeding and maintenance costs, are among the factors driving aquaculture industry stakeholders towards this sector. This study aims to experimentally investigate the hydrodynamic behavior of a model of a floating fish cage in waves and currents. The effects of wave loading alone, current loading alone, and the simultaneous effect of waves and currents are examined. A net with constant solidity was used in all experiments. Six waves with a steepness of ۱/۱۴ and heights ranging from ۴ to ۱۴ centimeters were investigated in this study. The current velocity varied between ۰.۱ to ۰.۵ meters per second in different experiments. Various phenomena such as floater slamming, wave overtopping, and netting slack were observed and reported. The results of this research indicate that determining the design parameters of floating fish cages to avoid cage damage is crucial for fish farming.
