چکیده مقاله:

Soil slopes can be stabilized using various techniques, including soil nailing that has gained attention forits effective use in a range of engineering projects. It is important to evaluate the seismic durability of soilnailed walls, especially when they are used as long-lasting retaining structures. The growing prevalence ofgeotechnical structures highlights the need for further research on retaining structures. However, accuratelydetermining a series of model parameters in geotechnical studies can be challenging. In recent times, therehas been a widespread use of probabilistic methods to explore uncertainties in the values of parameter(s)across a certain problem. To overcome the lack of probabilistic analysis capability in the finite elementsoftware PLAXIS ۲D, the current study employed the Monte Carlo simulation method with the aid ofMinitab software for geotechnical analysis. Selecting five parameters as random variables, the study is tofind out the influence each parameter has on behavior of nailed walls. It turned out that cohesion is the mostinfluential factor in total displacement of a soil nailed wall. Furthermore, friction angle has the greatestinfluence on axial and shear forces and also, flexural moment generated along the wall height.
