چکیده مقاله:

Dementia, particularly Alzheimer's Disease (AD), presents a significant and escalating global challenge, with the aging population expected to triple the current ۴۴ million affected individuals by ۲۰۵۰ [۱]. The progressive nature of AD unfolds through pre-symptomatic, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and clinical stages, emphasizing the critical need for early detection and intervention. While existing diagnostic methods like PET imaging and CSF analysis show promise, a noninvasive, cost-effective biomarker remains to be developed. This review focuses on the potential of microRNAs (miRNAs) as blood-based biomarkers for AD. miRNAs play a crucial role in regulating AD-related processes, offering a promising way for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficacy in AD management. Studies have identified specific miRNAs, such as miR-۱۹۳b, miR-۲۰۶, and miR-۱۳۲, as potential biomarkers for early AD detection and discrimination from MCI. The exploration of miRNAs as blood-based biomarkers holds significant potential in revolutionizing AD diagnosis and management.
