Experiences of Urban Planning in the United Kingdom

This article examines the political, economic and urban planning history of England. England is governed by aconstitutional monarchy system with parliament as the main power. The country's economy is based on theshipping industry and the industrial revolution. Laws and different stages of urban planning, including thegarden city movement and planning after World War II, are examined. Recent legal changes and contemporarytrends are also considered and the role of the local government and various institutions in this process isanalyzed.
