چکیده مقاله:
ntroduction and Objective: Nurses often face ethical issues in their work environment that impact their quality of work life. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the relationship between ethical distress and quality of work life among nurses. Method: The present study is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study. The sample sizeconsisted of ۲۹۰ nurses from the medical universities of Kerman province who were selected through simple random sampling in the year ۲۰۲۱. The data collection tool included three sections: demographic information, Corley Ethical Distress Questionnaire, and Work Life Quality Questionnaire. After data entry, the data were analyzed using SPSS version ۲۰ software, and the significance level of the tests was determined to be ۹۵ percent. Findings: Descriptive statistical results showed that the mean score of ethical distress was ۱۴۰.۶۱ ± ۴۳.۷۹۵ and the mean score of nurses' work life quality was ۱۵۵.۹ ± ۲۵.۰۷۷. The results of multivariable analysis of variance tests indicated a significant relationship between ethical distress and gender, department (unit), (P<۰.۰۵). Moreover, work life quality showed a significant relationship with work experience, position, department (unit), and shift (P<۰.۰۵). The results of correlation coefficient tests demonstrated a significant moderate inverse relationship between ethical distress and work life quality (P<۰.۰۵). Conclusion: The results indicated that an increase in ethical distress leads to a decrease in nurses' work life quality. These findings underscore that ethical issues in the workplace can significantly impact job satisfaction, social interactions, and the psychological well-being of nurses. Therefore, these results can assist organizations and managers in implementing policies and programs to improve the work environment and promote professional ethics.
