چکیده مقاله:
Listeria monocytogenes, a stealthy bacterium, poses a significant threat to
human health. By understanding the pathogenesis of Listeria
monocytogenes, researchers and healthcare professionals can develop
effective strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Listeria
monocytogenes is a gram-positive, facultative intracellular bacterium that
has evolved elaborate mechanisms to invade and replicate within host cells.
Understanding the pathogenesis of Listeria monocytogenes is crucial for
comprehending the life cycle of this bacterium and its ability to cause
listeriosis. The pathogenesis of Listeria monocytogenes begins with the
ingestion of contaminated food, primarily unpasteurized dairy products,
raw vegetables, and processed meats. Listeria monocytogenes also employs
a unique mechanism known as actin-based motility, where it exploits the
host's actin cytoskeleton to move within and between cells, avoiding
immune surveillance. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent
severe outcomes.
