Chemical compositions of Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl. obtained by Microwave-assistedhydrodistillation (MWHD) and hydrodistillation (HD) techniques

Microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (MWHD) , hydrodistillation (HD) techniques were carried out for theanalysis of volatile components of Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl from Iran. The oils obtained were analyzed by GC–MS.The extraction time while using the MWHD is no more than ۲۴ min using a microwave power of ۳۰۰ W. Differentexperimental parameters such as, sonication time, extraction time and temperature, and desorption time wereinvestigated. The major components by two methods of HD, MWHD were carvacrol and thymol. In the present workwe have isolated essential oils of plant by HD, MWHD methods from the aerial part of the plant and then comparedessential oil contents and discussed types of extraction methods
