Hollow silica nanoparticles (HSNPs) are used in various fields of application due to their uniqueproperties. In this study, HSNPs were prepared using polystyrene nanoparticles as a polymeric template. Thesilica shell was formed via hydrolysis and condensation reactions of an alkoxysilane in the presence of a basiccatalyst. The reaction parameters were optimized according to one-factor-at-a-time methodology
