An engineered endolysin: degradation of peptidoglycan layer of Acinetobacter Baumanniimembrane

Acinetobacter baumannii infection has become a critical challenge to health care systems. One of themethods recently used as an alternative to antibiotic treatment is to use phage endolysin enzymes to specificallyeliminate bacteria. Gram-negative bacteria are more resistant to external factors due to their cell wall structure,so lysis of cell wall peptidoglycan is an effective way to eradicate them. In this study, peptidoglycan hydrolysiseffect of a new engineered endolysin on Acinetobacter baumannii was Confirmed.
