Investigating the characteristics of Oil produced water in one of the oil desalination plantsin National Iranian South Oil Company and presenting environmental managementsolutions

This study has been conducted in one of the largest oil desalination plants in the Middle East, locatedin Ahvaz and National Iranian South Oil Company. The aim of this study was to determine the quantity andquality of produced water and its resultant effluent wastewater in order to offer environmental managementsolutions for their disposal and injection. And it is assumed that the measured values of parameters are morethan the studied standards. The studied wastewater has at least ۲۲ dangerous substances with international riskcode. The composition of produced water in each region depends on the geological age of the reservoir rock,depth and geochemistry of the region along with chemicals added during petroleum production
