The porous Ge electrode exhibits high areal capacity and stable full cell cyclic performance forlithium-ion battery. At the current density of ۸ A g-۱ , over ۱۸۱۱ cycles were achieved with ~%۳۷ (۶۴۶ to ۴۶۶mAh∙g-۱ ) capacity retention. The high areal capacity up to ۳.۳ mAh g-۱ was obtained. Examination of postcycled electrode suggested that the stability of the electrode stemmed from the ability of the individual grainsto ۳۸ maintain the electrical contacts with each other, even after a large volume change upon full lithiation.Here, we report our study on the effect of mass loadings on the electrochemical performance of porous Geelectrodes where the areal capacity up to ۳.۳ mAh cm-۲has been achieved at the high current density of ۱mA cm-۲. Full cells consisting of porous Ge along with the commercial lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) were alsoinvestigated at different current densities (۱.۴ and ۱ mA cm-۲).
