In recent years, the use of polymer insulators in power transmission lines has expanded, especially in areas with high pollution. The main advantages of composite insulators are their light weight, their resistance to destruction and their stability in polluted environments. Compared to ceramic insulators, these insulators have a shorter lifespan and with the passage of time, they are prone to chemical destruction caused by environmental factors such as sunlight, acid rain, corona, dry bond and thermal effects caused by them. Over time, this type of erosion affects the efficiency of the insulator, especially its water repellency, and can even cause shutdown and irreparable damages. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the condition and estimate the life of polymeric insulators in order to prevent these damages. In this article, the results of material, mechanical, and electrical tests are analyzed, life measurement curves are drawn, and at the end, comments are made about the insulators of each of the lines.
