Curved reinforced concrete shear walls (CRCSWs) can effectively be utilized in low-rise to highrisebuildings to tackle with some of the existing structural and architectural requirements. This studyincludes research on a high-demanding type of structural element, which has found its application in NorthAmerica, Europe, Asia, and to some extent in the Middle East with relatively no design specifications andlaboratory research, structural analysis, and design methodology. In order to provide further insight into thecyclic performance of CRCSWs, an experimental testing has been carried out. The specimen is tested dueto a quasi-static lateral cyclic loading until the failure. The full hysteresis and skeleton responses of theCRCSW are then derived. Based on the obtained results, a simplified model is proposed to assess the cyclicresponse of a CRCSW. At first, a restoring force model is established taking care of the characteristic pointsincluding the crack point, yield point, peak point, and failure point. The findings of this study indicate thatproposed restoring force model well predicts the cyclic performance of the tested CRCSW to an extent thatthe area under the force-displacement can be captured up to ۹۳% of the actual force-displacement response.
