Asset Management and MaintenanceOrientations in Electrical Distribution Networks:A Review

Increasing the dependency of today’s life ofhuman to electrical energy causes electrical distributioncompanies more considerations in sustainable supplyingconsumers. Many researches and topics have been studied inprevious literatures in order to supply sustainability ofelectrical energy from designing process to operational ones.Asset management (AM) as a newly mentioned system isconsidered more than before in order to increase total wealth ofnetwork equipment over time by acquiring, maintaining, andtrading investments that have the potential to grow in value.Some aspects of it in electrical distribution networks (EDNs)have been considered and analyzed. Due to numerousinstrumentation in EDNs and AM process, it will be valuable toreview the pervious works and determine the outstandingapproaches. This paper aims at outstanding the valuable studiesin asset management orientations of EDNs which improves theoperations of EDNs including reliability, sustainability andstability. So some studies mainly published in CIRED arereviewed and their main results are classified.
