SPATIO-TEMPORAL DATA MINING WITH ASSOCIATION RULES FOR LAKE VAN

Developing information technologies and the improvements in the database management systems make it possible to extract useful information from knowledge in hand for the strategic decisions. Therefore, different methods have been. Data mining with association rule is one of such methods. Apriori(Agrawal ve Srikant 1994) which this method is a sub-discipline. This algorithm are embedded time and location properties. Thus, this method is spatio-temporal data mining with association rule. Lake Van is Turkey's largest, in a closed basin. With this feature, the volume of lake water may increase in or decrease in. In this study, Apriori algorithm is adapted to the spatio-temporal data mining area and used on a spatio-temporal data set belonging to Lake Van. In this study, water-overflows and newly-formed soil regions occurring in the coastal parts of Lake Van have been tried to be identified. Thus, precautions to be taken in the coastal parts of Lake Van, and investments to be made in the area have been dealth with.
