چکیده مقاله:

Objective: The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive intervention program based on the results of the World Health Organization Functional Evaluation on each of the functional and adaptive skills of adolescents with intellectual disabilities. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population included all male adolescents with mild intellectual disability in Guilan province during ۲۰۲۰-۲۰۲۱. The sample of this study was ۳۰ mildly retarded adolescents residing in small homes of mentally retarded people under the supervision of welfare organization who were selected by convenience sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The participants of each group responded to the pre-test before the start of the sessions, and then the experimental group was subjected to a comprehensive intervention based on the results of the WHO functional assessment for ۱۷ sessions of ۹۰ minutes, and the control group remained on the waiting list and did not receive any intervention until post-test. Then the two groups were given a post-test. Data collection tools were World Health Organization Quantitative Assessment Questionnaire ۲ (۲۰۱۲) and Winland Adaptive Behavior Scale (۱۹۸۰). Data analysis was performed by univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance using SPSS۲۲ software. Results: The findings showed that a comprehensive intervention program based on the results of the World Health Organization functional assessment was effective on the components of personal care, interaction and coping and life activities from functional levels and components of self-help in eating, self-help in dressing, self-direction, occupational issues and occupations, movement and movement, communication and socialization of adaptive skills of mentally retarded adolescents (P>۰.۰۰۱) and improved them, but there was no significant effect on the components of understanding and communication, mobility and displacement, participation in society and general self-help. Conclusion: It can be concluded that a comprehensive intervention program based on the results of the WHO functional assessment was effective on each of the functional levels and adaptive skills of adolescents with intellectual disability. Objective: The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive intervention program based on the results of the World Health Organization Functional Evaluation on each of the functional and adaptive skills of adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
